Staying in a total of nine hotels across a number of locations, you will also embark on a whole range of once-in-a-lifetime excursions and see a host fascinating sights. Arrive in Quito, check-in to the Donn Carlton hotel and enjoy the day at your leisure. Your trip leader will meet you in the hotel lobby for a welcome briefing.
After breakfast, get an early start and drive north to Otavalo. Interact with the local culture once you arrive followed by a trip to the famous handicraft market. In the afternoon, drive to Cotacachi to have lunch and explore the town at your leisure. Next, you will visit Peguche, a small town known for its waterfalls before heading to Hacienda Pinsaqui for a one-night stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a two-hour drive through the eastern range of the Andes where you’ll spot animals such as bears, deer and pumas. You’ll then arrive at the Papallacta Hot Springs Resort where you can soak in the open-air volcanic water pools.
Early in the morning, you’ll drive towards the Amazon Rainforest where your first stop will be the Guango reserve to see the colourful hummingbirds. Next, visit the Guacamayos-Macaw Lookout to observe the blanket of clouds that cover the forest. You’ll then arrive at the Arajuno River where a motor canoe will take you on a 20-minute journey to the Itamandi Eco-Lodge.
After breakfast, take a motorised canoe towards Amazoonico, a rescue centre sheltering a number of endangered species. Later, you will enjoy a cultural activity to learn about the way of life of the Amazonian Kichwa community as well as have the opportunity to learn how to make your own chocolate from raw fruit.
In the morning, observe the Saladero parrots before having breakfast and driving farther south to Puyo. Next, you will continue onto Sangay National Parkfor a hike down to the second highest waterfall in Ecuador, the Pailon Del Diablo. After another short drive, arrive at the El Manto de la Novia where you will ride in the cable car along the canyon of the Pastaza River. In the afternoon, arrive in Baños, which is located on the foothills of the active Tungurahua volcano before spending the night at the Casa de Luis.
After breakfast, journey to the Chimborazo Volcano, which is the highest mountain in Ecuador, and enjoy a short hike. Stay one night at the Hacienda La Andaluza.
Enjoy an early breakfast before driving to the small town of Alausí. Here, you will board a train to the Devil’s Nose and continue your visit towards Ingapirca for a guided tour of the archaeological site. Later, head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cuenca before enjoying a one-night stay at Hotel Carvallo.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour before visiting the famous Panama hat factory in the afternoon. In the early evening, take a short domestic flight back to Quito where you’ll be transferred to Dann Carlton.
After breakfast, enjoy the day in Quito at your leisure. Optional day tours are available upon request such as a city tour and a visit to the Mindo Cloud Forest.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport where you’ll fly to the Island of Baltra. Once landed, you’ll be transferred by ferry to the nearby island of Santa Cruz where you’ll visit the giant Galapagos tortoises. After lunch, journey to Hotel Fiesta by private vehicle where your local guide will meet you to explain the next day’s events. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat for a half-day tour of Academy Bay in Santa Cruz to swim and snorkel with sea lions. Then, take a walk along the Playa de los Perros to admire the sea iguanas basking in the sun before returning to your hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station. Check-in at Hotel Blue Marlin in the afternoon; you will then be transferred by boat to the island of San Cristobal. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the dock for a short boat ride to Isla Lobos. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour before relaxing at a San Cristóbal beach before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a guided walk to Frigate Hill.
After breakfast, catch your flight back to the mainland. After you land in Quito, you will be driven to the Dann Carlton hotel where you will spend two nights.
Your trip has come to an end and after breakfast, it’s time to catch your flight home.
A beautiful cluster of volcanic archipelagos that are home to an uncountable amount of various wildlife species, the Galapagos Islands is a location full of breath-taking biodiversity that needs to be seen to be believed.
