Ecuador & the Galapagos
This incredible, once-in-a-lifetime, fully escorted tour allows you to discover the highlights of both Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for a duration of 12 nights. Staying in seven hotels across a variety of locations boasting comfortable and spacious accommodation, you will also experience a whole host of fascinating sights and embark on a number of included excursions. Moreover, with all travel provided, the only thing you will have to worry about is finding a pen to tick this adventure off your bucket list.
Arrive in Guayaquila and spend the day exploring at your leisure. In the evening, meet your tour guide in the lobby of your residence, Hotel Unipark, for a welcome briefing.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport where you’ll fly to the Island of Baltra. Once landed, you’ll be transferred by ferry to the nearby island of Santa Cruz where you’ll visit the giant Galapagos tortoises. After lunch, journey to Hotel Silberstein by private vehicle where your local guide will meet you to explain the next day’s events. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat for a half-day tour of Academy Bay in Santa Cruz to swim and snorkel with sea lions. Then, take a walk along the Playa de los Perros to admire the sea iguanas basking in the sun before returning to your hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station. Check-in at Hotel Blue Marlin in the afternoon; you will then be transferred by boat to the island of San Cristobal. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the dock for a short boat ride to Isla Lobos. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour before relaxing at a San Cristóbal beach before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a guided walk to Frigate Hill.
After breakfast, catch your flight back to the mainland. After you land in Quito, you will be driven to the Swissotel Quito hotel where you will spend two nights.
Enjoy the entire day in Quito at your leisure. There are optional day tours on offer upon request including a Quito city tour and the Quilotoa Loop hike (extra cost).
After breakfast, you’ll visit the equator. After this, you will travel to the Mindo Cloud Forest, an area filled with a wide variety of plants and animal life. In the afternoon, you’ll visit a chocolate distributor before you’re transported to El Septimo Paraiso for a two-night stay.
After breakfast, return to the Mindo Cloud Forest for a hike along the waterfalls. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to try the several outdoor activities offered in the area including white-water rafting and canopy zip lining (extra cost).
After breakfast, spend the day at the Otavalo local market followed by a visit to Cotachi for an afternoon of leisure. Later, you will arrive at the Hacienda Pinsaqui where you will receive a welcome cocktail and stay overnight.
After breakfast, you will visit the Cotacachi Cayapas ecological reserve to see the volcano. After a hike along the rim of the Cuicocha, you will take a boat ride to the centre of the crater. Later, head to Peguche where you will assist the local people prepare a delicious lunch using the fresh products harvested the same day from the surrounding organic fields. In the late afternoon, you will reach the volcanic hot springs resort of Papallacta where you will stay overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy one last dip in the hot springs before driving to Cotopaxi, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Begin with a visit to the interpretation centre before continuing the drive towards Limpiopungo Lake. You will then drive back to Quito for your final night spent at the Swissotel Quito.
